Yamaha TT600R 1998 Begarda model, basically a lighter version of the XT. New MOT, no advisories. In the last month this bike has had a complete re-wire with a brand new CDi unit and regulator/rectifier, an ignition barrel with key was fitted to the side panel along with a new kill switch and a new switch to activate the lights. It has also been fully serviced, including valve clearances, auto de-comp adjustment (new cable), oil filter, oil, foam air filter, ngk plug etc. I have also had the carburetors ultrasonically cleaned and rebuilt, I up-jetted the carbs to better suit it's white brothers exhaust silencer and foam air filter. I checked over the brakes and chain whilst it was being serviced, all good and plenty of life left. It also had its front forks rebuilt with new fork seals and covers fitted. When I bought the bike the original speedo was in pieces and removed from the bike, apparently they have a habit of vibrating apart, so I have fitted a digital LCD speedo which I bought on good old Greatbritainlisted. It's cheap and cheerful. That is all I have to say about that. It's also had two new inlet rubbers and stainless clamps. It's fitted with Continental twinduro tyres which are excellent on and off the road, with plenty of tread left. The engine has had some work in the past, I would guess a full re-build although I can't prove anything as it's service history has disappeared, I only noticed from looking at the locking washers on the oil pump drive etc. I replaced it's clutch casing gasket and generator gasket whilst doing the service as it had a slight leak from the generator side. I also fitted new front wheel bearings for it's MOT. A couple of negative points to mention would be a little surface corrosion on the rear wheel rim and there are a couple of rust spots on the front fork stanchions but they are at the top so well away from the fork seals, a pair of fork gators would cover them up but they aren't noticeable really. All in all a good bike, reliable and sounds amazing, (it's loud). Don't turn up expecting to be able to ride away in shorts and flip-flops, this bike is a bit of a monster and it takes a strong leg and a good pair of boots to fire her up. There is a knack to getting her to fire up first kick, my friend can do it every time, hot or cold, but I struggle as I am a bit short in the leg so balance is an issue and I feel I am a bit too heavy to stand on the bike using the side stand. I like my pies too much to keep this beast, so it needs to go to someone who will use it for what it was designed for (ripping your arms out of their sockets). I don't do auctions so if you're reading this listing then the bike is still available, I will amend or remove the advert once a deposit has been taken.
